I don't have a witty title! =)
Sorry.....if feel I have dain bramage lately! =) With Gracie starting school, trying to get into the routine, I'm trying to adjust. =)
First off, Gracie LOVES school and she has yet to crash when she gets home...very surprising to me (although she a minor meltdown this morning which consisted of brushing her hair...long story, I won't bore you). =) The first thing she does when she gets home is to lay out her clothes for the next day and you should see some of the outfits she puts together. =) BBWWAAAHHHH!

So, I dropped off my photos for the fair yesterday day and of course I had to check out the competition.....and all I can say is WOW! I don't think I stand a chance but you never know right? I only submitted 2 (hopefully Erica you aren't reading this)....I figured it would be less of a let down if I didn't win anything. I will say, the ladies taking the entries showed everyone the one of Sam and the angel wings, so that felt good...I think that one is my best bet on winning....keep you're fingers crossed. =)
I went and got my eyes dilated today....that is some funky stuff they put in your eyes! It seemed 3 hours later when I went to pick Gracie up, the sun was even brighter then when I left the office....lets just say I'm lucky I live close. =) I've got to go to a specialist....my left eye is all funky and shaped all weird which is a sign of glaucoma so she wants to watch that. It also could be from trauma that happened to that eye when I was in a car wreck many many years ago. I'm hoping that's the case, but they want to make sure. =)
OK, I have to talk about the Ramsey case.....that guy is ODD (and that's a nice way to put it). Can you believe it's been 10 years ago? Honestly, I thought the parents were involved....they never really cried about it and it seems to me that they loved the spotlight a little to much. I really hope that this guy did it and he's off the streets but from what I'm hearing on CNN and what he's saying, I don't think he did....I think he wants the attention. It's just weird IMO. Anywho, if they find out he didn't do it, hopefully they can lock him up, he's got some major issues and it just floors me that he's a 2nd grade teacher and was applying for another job.
So I'll end with some photos with backlighting. I was talking to Molly (another photog friend) on the phone the other day and we got on the subject when/if you go to a customers house and you can't get any good light. I got off the phone with her and I thought to myself...well, if all else fails, stick them in a window! =)

Such great shots! Your backlighting is always fantastic :)
Beautiful stuff as always Brenda!
I hate to see what the competition is at the fair if you're intimidated. I'm enjoying your shots of Sam. How fun!
Good for you! I'm too scared to enter anything in competitions. I guess you'll never win if you never try though, huh? Love the pictures - backlighting is hard for me. Maybe I'll have to give it a try!
Just beautiful- I love back lighting! You have really been a master of this as of late! She is beautiful. How old is she?
LOVE THE PHOTOS....I'm a new fan by-the-way....you have great photographs! and your little girls are so FREEK'n cute!
Ok, I have to say- AWESOME. Now, can you give me some pointers on backlighting? I can't get it right for some reason. I mean... how close to the window is she sitting? Is the sun shining in hard, or soft light? You meter on her face, correct? What were your settings? (Seems like my shutter speed is always so low, then my pics are blurry or the edges of the baby are way blown out). Anyway... i'm gonna have to practice this cause your stuff is awesome!
Wow. I just have a ton of questions. Can you email me? nic073@sbcglobal.net
Thanks
Okay, she is adorable!!! And I love your backlighting here - what a perfect photo. :)
good luck with the contest. i am a big fan of your photos, i'm sure you'll win! as for the jon benet thing, i was kinda thinking the same as you. i just think it is weird that after all this time and all this "hoopla" about it (i mean for years and years that little girl's face was plastered everywhere with her story) that someone gets caught and immediately is like, yeah i did it. i was with her. i'm not innocent. it just doesn't make sense to me. it breaks my heart that she ever died in the first place. it would be nice for the family to finally find some peace.
Sam's face in the last one is killing me...to funny
FABulous photo - good luck at the fair. Your work is so inspiring, you find yourself coming to a dead stop - and loving the view...
I love those! I love looking at your blog as well, it's so great!
Hey! Are you entering the State Fair too? What categories? I drop my entries off tomorrow... provided I can find my paper I'm supposed to take with me!
your awesome girl. How do get the background to be like that. I would love it if you could please spread your knowledge my way. i have a great window that l would love to try that with. Just need to know how? Please and thanks.
Wow, those are amazing! I want to take pictures like that...seriously you just stuck her in the window?
I have to try that.
love seeing what your going to come up with next for poses ,love it
That first one is *darling*.
And you're CRAZY if you think your photos don't stand a chance. You're gonna knock 'em dead.
Brenda I just love to look at your photography. The high key here is wonderful. Using a window or sliding door is exactly what I do at shoots when I don't have a white backdrop. Works wonderful. Excellent work. Your photography has come so far!!
Wonderful backlighting;) Love pictures of little ones in tutu's:)
I have to say..on that Ramsey case...I was bummed to not find out more info on that cause my hubbies uncle works for CBI(Colorado Bureau Investigation) & can you BELIEVE he wouldn't SPILL THE BEANS..haha..DARN HIM:):):):)
Anyways..the guy does look creepy!..YIKES!!!!
Thanks Janine, Julie and Alicia! =)
Holly, you're crazy! You're a fantastic photographer...you need to enter. =)

I'll email you with some tips! =)
Thank you so much Stacy. =)
Julie and Alicia...thanks too and I couldn't agree more. And since this post, it's gotten even more bizarre!
I know Marie...isn't that funny! I think she was gabbing about someone...if she knew cuz' words, I think I'd hear them. LOL!
Thank you Everyday (I wish I knew your name). =)
