I LOVE backlighting!

Sometimes, I feel that's the only thing I can do. I finally was able to pull out my camera today and take some shots of Gracie but I wasn't quite happy with what I got (shhh....don't tell anyone, I forgot to check my settings...OOPPPSS)! Anywho, after downloading them and not seeing that "money" shot, I bribed Gracie (she made $2.00 off of me by the way) and put her in the window......I'm much happier with these. =)
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.....yuck that it's almost over! =(

Love em! Love the shadows the most...adds great depth to them.

We are at the stage where bribery doesn't work. LOL!

BTW...why don't you make a post where you give instructions on how to do these types of shots. Lots of people are interested...so...just a thought.

Bren, I need you to give me some backlighting lessons. Seriously, I'm not so good at it. Everytime you post your backlit pictures, I take Savannah in her room and try - they always suck. Help me out - oh talented one!!!

Count me in on the lessons, Brenda! These are just beautiful, and I'm very interested in how you do it. I'm laughing at your "bribe", too, because I'm having a "discussion" with my 11 year old daughter at this very moment about a Halloween costume that I want to order for her....she says "You just want it so you can take pictures, Mom!" and I said "yep, that's right!"

Awww...thank you everyone! I've had a couple requested about it so I'll just start a new post of what I do that way if you don't check back on the comments, you won't miss it. =)

Thank you Amy....I'm very lucky and spoiled with my lighting! =)

Nadia...thank you! =) Yeah...I use to bribe with starbursts but now she's moved on to the big-time....money! =)

Alisha...when I saw these, I totally thought of you little baby one...LOVE that one! =)

Adrienne....I just order one in an 11x14...great minds think alike! =)

Jesse...thank you sweetie! =)

Laura...you're loopy! I've seen you do some backlighting and LOVED it! I'll make a deal with ya....I'll give some pointers if you give me some pointers on your WONDERFUL outside shots! =) DEAL?

Holly...BWWHHAAA on the talented one comment! =)

Frederique...mine don't come out very sharp and do have a bit of a haze to them. Not everyone that I take is a keeper...as long as I have what I wanted in focus (usually the eyes) I work with it...you'll will be surprised at the SOOC and after and honestly it doesn't take me but 2 minutes in PS to get what I want. =)

Thank you Lanne, Dhana, Lindey, Julie, Tina, Melissa, ADITLOAD, Louise, Tori, Amy, Alissa, Haylee and Maggie...you guys are soooo sweet! =)

Jamie,
She's on to you! I'm the same way and this year I told Gracie she could pick out any costume she wanted (within reason) and she wants to be Stephanie from Lazytown. Needless to say, I won't be taking a ton of pictures in it. =)

Well, it's CERTAINLY not the only thing you do well, but you do it fabulously, that's for sure!

I agree with everyone else's commments. Great stuff here. And money now, huh? Start saving your dollars!

I too would love to know how you achieved this look with your settings.
I think it would be fun for some to see SOOC shots along with your after ps work.
